We are certified by the Society of Protective Coatings for Lead Paint Removal C-3

This includes background information on the hazards of lead and other toxic metals and the current legal and regulatory environment, including: Worker protection, compliance with environmental regulations, proper management of waste streams and operations that result in potential exposures to lead, associated control technology, control risks to workers, the public, and the environment.

Lead Abatement and Environmental

We have completed full lead abatement projects:

For example, MacDonald Bridge in Calgary was situated over waterways and within or near parkland & public pathways. Requirements included 100% containment of dust, spent abrasive and paint. We completely encapsulated the entire structure and still maintained the operation of the bridge for traffic, which added to the complexity of the project.

Horton Spheres in Turner Valley was situated within a historic property near parkland & public access within the town city limits. Requirements included 100% containment of dust, spent abrasive and paint. We completely encapsulated the entire structure including full ground coverage, which was unique for the shape and size of the structure.

Protection of, environment, workers and the public are fundamental in all lead abatement projects. A full lead abatement program is required prior to the start of any lead abatement project that is to be implemented.

  • Testing and confirmation of levels of lead and other hazardous materials
  • Soil testing – conducted before and after the projects to ensure no contamination has occurred due to the operations
  • Safety and protection measures for all personnel, and the public to ensure protection from lead poising & transporting of lead outside of the restricted area
